  • South Tangerang feels like endless sprawl with no real center—just strip malls, traffic jams, and half-finished apartment towers. The sidewalks are cracked or nonexistent, so walking anywhere is a gamble between motorcycles and open drains. Even the local food stalls seem overwhelmed by the choking exhaust fumes from the main roads. The public transport is a joke—overcrowded angkot minibuses with no schedule, or overpriced ride-hailing apps stuck in gridlock for half an hour just to go a few kilometers. Nothing feels designed for people, just cars and concrete. For a city this size, there’s shockingly little character—no real landmarks, just generic shopping plazas and the occasional half-abandoned "green space" full of litter. Even the nightlife is either dead or just chain cafes with blaring karaoke. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re stuck here.
