1Chicago’s skyline is stunning, especially from the lakefront, but the wind really does make winter unbearable. The deep-dish pizza is more like a casserole—interesting to try once, but not something I’d crave. Public transit is decent downtown, but the farther out you go, the more unreliable it gets. The people are friendly enough, though conversations often circle back to sports whether you care or not. It’s a city with big energy, but it doesn’t always feel like it’s for everyone.
