Spent afternoons sipping jasmine tea while locals played mahjong under the banyan trees—this city knows how to slow down without ever feeling sleepy. The spicy hotpot spots had me sweating but going back for more every night, especially those numbing Sichuan peppercorns. Even crossing the busy streets felt oddly peaceful with all the cyclists and scooters weaving around each other like some unspoken dance.
