  Yongzhou felt like a city stuck in limbo—neither bustling nor peaceful, just oddly stagnant. The public transportation system was frustratingly unreliable; buses rarely showed up on time, and the few that did were overcrowded and poorly maintained. The food scene was underwhelming, with most street vendors serving greasy, repetitive dishes that lacked flavor. Even the historic landmarks, which could’ve been a saving grace, were poorly preserved and surrounded by litter. The locals seemed indifferent, almost disinterested in engaging with visitors. Overall, it was a forgettable experience that left me eager to leave.
