Aba’s energy is something else—the streets buzz with commerce, market vendors calling out deals, and the hum of generators mixing with lively conversations. The Ariaria Market is a maze of everything you could imagine, from fresh peppers to locally made leather goods. I loved grabbing puff-puff from street vendors—hot, crispy, and ridiculously cheap. The people here have this no-nonsense warmth—they’ll haggle hard but crack a joke right after. Not the most polished city, but full of life.

1Aba’s energy is contagious—markets buzzing with traders haggling over fabrics and electronics, streets packed with okada riders weaving through traffic like it’s an art form. The local buka near Ariaria served the best jollof rice I’ve had in the southeast, smoky and just spicy enough. Even the humidity felt like part of the charm, like the city itself was sweating from all the hustle.
