  Zunyi felt like a city stuck in limbo—too big to have small-town charm, too underdeveloped to offer much for visitors. The streets were chaotic, with sidewalks often blocked by parked scooters or construction debris. I tried finding decent local food, but most places served the same oily, overly salty dishes without much variety. Public transport was unreliable, and taxis would often refuse to use the meter. The few historical sites were poorly maintained, with little English signage, making it hard to appreciate them. Not a place I'd rush back to.
