Walking through Santo Domingo’s Colonial Zone feels like stepping into a living history book. The cobblestone streets and 16th-century architecture are stunning, especially around the Catedral Primada de América—it’s surreal to think this is the oldest cathedral in the Americas. The locals are warm and always up for a chat, whether you’re grabbing a plate of mofongo at a street-side eatery or sipping fresh coconut water in a plaza. The city has this vibrant energy, especially at night when the bars and live music spots come alive. It’s chaotic in the best way, and I couldn’t get enough of it.
