Pristina surprised me with its youthful energy—the café culture here is buzzing, filled with students and artists debating over strong espresso. The Newborn Monument, vibrant and ever-changing, feels like the perfect symbol for this city’s defiant optimism. Public transport was a bit chaotic, but I loved how walkable the center was, with Ottoman-era buildings sitting alongside bold, modern architecture. Prices were refreshingly low—I had some of the best flaky byrek and rich macchiatos for just a couple euros. People were warm, quick to share stories about the city’s past and their hopes for its future.
