  • Port-au-Prince was overwhelming in ways I wasn’t prepared for. The streets were chaotic, with traffic jams that felt endless and sidewalks so crowded it was hard to move. The air quality was noticeably poor, and the lack of reliable public transportation made getting around a constant struggle. While I saw glimpses of vibrant culture and resilience in the people, the city felt neglected, with crumbling infrastructure and trash piling up in many areas. It’s not a place I’d recommend for casual travel—it demands a level of patience and adaptability I didn’t have.
