Wandering through Ouagadougou’s bustling markets, I loved how vibrant and alive everything felt—the colors of handwoven fabrics, the smoky scent of grilled meat from street stalls. The energy here is infectious, even when the heat gets intense. What struck me most was how welcoming people were, always ready to share a smile or point me toward a great spot for tô or riz gras. The Grand Market is pure sensory overload in the best way—endless stalls of crafts, spices, and local treasures. Public transport is a bit chaotic, but the shared taxis are cheap and an experience in themselves. Nights here have this slow, warm rhythm, with outdoor bars playing Afrobeat under the stars. For a capital city, it never feels rushed or impersonal.
