Nanchang is an odd mix of modern high-rises and worn-out socialist blocks. The Tengwang Pavilion is gorgeous, but the surrounding area feels neglected, like the city can't decide if it wants to preserve history or bulldoze it. Street food is cheap and filling, though heavy on oil—I swear every snack stand just fries everything twice. The metro is efficient, but good luck finding English signs if you wander beyond the main stops. It's not unpleasant, just... forgettable, like a city built for utility rather than charm.
