Walking along the South Bank at sunset with the Thames glittering and the London Eye lit up in the distance – this city knows how to put on a show. The Tube makes it ridiculously easy to zip between neighborhoods, though I still got happily lost stumbling into hidden mews streets lined with colorful doors. Best £3 I spent? A still-warm sausage roll from a bakery near Borough Market, eaten on the steps of a centuries-old church. The mix of old and new here never gets old. Had my doubts about British food, but the Sunday roast at a cozy pub near Paddington proved me wrong – crispy potatoes, rich gravy, and beef so tender it barely needed a knife. Even better? The bartender called me "love" like we’d known each other for years. London’s grandeur can feel intimidating until you realize how many quirky corners it has, from vintage bookshops to tiny theaters above pubs. Left with sore feet and a camera roll full of mismatched architecture. Nothing prepares you for the first time you turn a corner and see Big Ben looming overhead – it’s like stepping into a postcard that somehow also has excellent Indian food and night buses that run all night. Spent one rainy afternoon getting blissfully lost in the British Museum, then dried off in a steamy café with the best chai I’ve had outside Mumbai. London’s chaos has a rhythm, and once you catch it, even the grumpy pigeons start
