Kirkuk’s energy is something else—the mix of cultures here is so alive you can feel it in the markets, where Kurdish, Arab, and Turkmen vendors all shout over each other. The citadel is a must-see, layers of history stacked on a hill overlooking the city. And the kebabs? Unreal. They grill them right on the street corners, smoky and perfect with fresh flatbread. The people are warm, always ready to share tea or a story. It’s chaotic in the best way.
