Khulna has this slow, almost sleepy energy that grows on you if you stay long enough—but not everyone has the patience for it. The riverfront has a quiet charm, and the rickshaw rides through narrow lanes feel nostalgic, though the heat can be brutal. I found some amazing street food near the railway station, but the city lacks the buzz of Dhaka or even Chittagong. The people are friendly but keep to themselves, and after a few days, I ran out of things to do besides wandering the local markets. It’s authentic, just not very lively.
