The beaches in Gqeberha are unreal—wide golden stretches with waves perfect for surfing, and barely any crowds compared to bigger coastal cities. I spent mornings at Hobie Beach just watching dolphins while sipping coffee from a vendor with the friendliest banter. The city has this laid-back, unpretentious vibe where even the historic Victorian buildings along the Donkin Reserve feel approachable, not stuffy. Plus, you can’t beat a sunset braai by the pier with locals who treat you like you’ve been friends for years.
