Locals kept stopping to recommend their favorite little spots, which is how I ended up at this tiny rum bar playing scratchy reggae records. Even the grocery stores had that island pace where no one's in a rush - clerk chatted with me about mango varieties while bagging my snacks. Seven Mile Beach really does have sand like powdered sugar, and the way the light changes over the water at dusk makes you want to stay forever.
