Abuja surprised me with how clean and well-planned it is compared to other African capitals. The roads are wide, traffic flows smoothly, and the modernist government buildings surrounded by greenery give it a futuristic vibe. I loved grabbing suya from roadside vendors at dusk - that smoky spice lingers in the air all evening. The Aso Rock vista at sunset is unreal - that massive monolith glowing red while the city lights start twinkling below. Locals in the business districts dress sharp but still greet strangers warmly. Maitama district feels like someone dropped a slice of Dubai into West Africa - all glass towers and manicured roundabouts, but with way better jollof rice at the hotels. Nightlife's more laidback than Lagos, but the rooftop bars around Central District have this cool energy where politicians, expats and artists all mingle. Public transport could be better, but the affordable cabs make getting around painless.
